I'm going to try this for my six meter beacon when the weather warms up in the spring.

NØUK's Maidenhead Grid Distance & Bearing Calculator (Grids? What are grids?)
This calculates the distance and heading between two different Grid Squares.

TRIVIA: Did you know that the Earth's curvature is approximately 8" per mile? So, if you want to talk to a six meter ham 100 miles away, you better have at least 8 X 100=800" or 67 Feet combined antenna height between the two stations (e.g. each at 34 feet antenna height, should make the path work...)
