Long Wire Antenna (Gain at little or no expense)
(Thanks to GWØGHF)
I'm going to try this for my six meter beacon when the weather warms up in the spring.

NØUK's Maidenhead Grid Distance & Bearing Calculator (Grids? What are grids?)
This calculates the distance and heading between two different Grid Squares.

TRIVIA: Did you know that the Earth's curvature is approximately 8" per mile? So, if you want to talk to a six meter ham 100 miles away, you better have at least 8 X 100=800" or 67 Feet combined antenna height between the two stations (e.g. each at 34 feet antenna height, should make the path work...)
